Your Talking Skills

Whether you are a native English or a non-native English, the way you talk and display oral information tells a lot about the structure of your mind, your values and your belief system.

Here are our Top 8 scenarios which we all experienced one way or another when talking to someone, particularly someone important...

To make it explicite, we describe in orange what the person you are talking to may be thinking:

1) You get often carried away and end up giving way too much information to whoever you are talking to, especially if that person is nice and understanding... Thanks, you are actually giving me plenty of stuff for me to make a quick and accurate opinion about you...

2) When asked a specific question, even if it is a simple one, you just can't help but give all sort of details... I do not want to go through this whole process everytime I ask for something...

3) When someone talk to you, you are often busy thinking of what you are going to answer...  I can tell he is not listening... I bet that, yet again, he will not give me a straight answer...

4) In a conversation, you become extremely uncomfortable when there are moments of silence... Don't give me that look, I'm only taking a minute to think; and please stop shaking that leg...

5) ften, people have to ask you to repeat as they didn't understand or hear what you said... I wish I could ask her to send me an email...

6) ou can't help but use a lot of fillers such as "euh"..."hmm.."... "ah"..."right" I now can't hear anything else...

7) You use a lot of phrases such as " to be honest", " to tell you the truth", "in all honestly"... " the truth is"... I'm suddenly beginning to question her honesty...

8) You always interrupt the person you are talking to, and it's even worst when you are on the phone... One more time and I'm done with this conversation.
